To create a footing group via cloning, follow the steps below:
1. First create a single footing on Footing Geometry page. Enter the inputs as you would for a single footing as described in Footing Geometry.
2. On Pier Geometry page, enter pier information as you would for a pier as described in Pier Geometry
3. On Load Cases page, make the desired changes such as add/delete the total number of load cases, change the load case names etc. so that the same information will be cloned on subsequent footings created via cloning. If there are loads that must be repeated on every pier of the cloned footings, enter those loads on this page as well.
4. On Load Combinations page, make appropriate changes as desired such as add/delete the total number of allowable and ultimate load combinations, the load factors that must be used for each load combination etc. so that the same load combinations will be cloned on subsequent footings created via cloning
5. Click "Footing Layout" page to display the one footing with pier that was just created.
6. Click "Clone Footing" in the workspace list buttons to display "Clone Footing" window
7. Enter the centerline to centerline spacing of the footings in each direction and the number of additional footings in each direction that will be cloned after the one footing that was created. By default the left and lowermost footing is the used as a reference to locate the cloned footings.
To create just one additional footing in X direction, enter CL to CL spacing in X direction and set No. of additional footings X Dir to 1
To create just one additional footing in Z direction, enter CL to CL spacing in Z direction and set No. of additional footings Z Dir to 1
If all the values are non-zero, a matrix pattern (row and column) of footings will be created using the number of additional footings and spacing provided
8. Enter the footing name prefix that must be used to label the footings. The default value is F - indicating that the footings will be called F1, F2, F3 etc.
9. Click OK to accept the displayed cloned footing layout
10. Footing Layout page now shows the footing arrangement
11. Once cloning is complete, click the Footing Geometry page to manage changes on the footing geometry of each of the cloned footings in case they need to be modified
Refer to Footing Layout to manage the footing group.
